A larger rear brake rotor would greatly improve braking performance and reduce rear pad wear. A larger front rotor might stop being a good idea; I suspect might increase the previously-mentioned stress on the front-end.
The biggest downside towards the stock delco-morraine brakes is often that they are made using iron. Cast iron does not dissipate heat as well as modern aluminum tires.
